Mrs. Baker

Washington has another new face to 4th grade for this upcoming school year as we welcome Mrs. Hannah Baker to Washington STEM Academy! Mrs. Baker comes to us from Pennsylvania where she attend college in Greenville. Over the past seven years Mrs. Baker has had the pleasure of working with children of all ages, from kindergarten all the way to 8th graders. Mrs. Baker has traveled quite a bit as well teaching in New York, Nevada and Indiana. She has served in a variety of educational roles from a classroom teacher to a volunteer event coordinator.

Mrs. Baker comes from a family of teachers and coaches. As she describes, "Growing up, I watched how these people impacted the lives of so many students. I always knew that one day I wanted to do that too. From the moment I could have a job, I found ways to work with kids." These experiences make Mrs. Baker a natural with students as she is preparing for the school year with her 4th grade team.

Now as Mrs. Baker brings her knowledge from other school settings to Washington, she has expressed how she is thrilled with the opportunity teach through the lens of STEM education. She states, "As a teacher I want to be able to present my students with new opportunities and create amazing moments for learning to occur. I am very excited to be able to integrate STEM into all of the different subjects." This STEM integration is key at Washington and Mrs. Baker recognizes the unique setting at Washington to do this. "The ability to teach cross-curricular is such a blessing," she shares.

Mrs. Baker recently moved to Warsaw with her husband, Taylor, and cat, Peppermint. Her parents and two sisters live back in New York with their families. We welcome Mrs. Hannah Baker to Washington and are excited for all this year will bring!
