Warsaw, IN- Prior to the January 16th Warsaw School Board meeting, a reception was held for outgoing Assistant Superintendent, Dr. David Robertson. Friends, colleagues and family gathered to celebrate his time and impact with Warsaw Community Schools (WCS).
In November, Dr. Robertson announced his resignation from WCS to join local financial firm Winona Wealth Management. Dr. Robertson is a Warsaw Community High School graduate and spent the majority of his educational career within Warsaw Community Schools as a teacher, principal at Jefferson Elementary School and Assistant Superintendent at the Central Office. His 19 years of service has impacted thousands of students, teachers, and parents.
Dr. David Hoffert, WCS Superintendent, stated, “Dr. David Robertson has been a huge blessing to our schools and thousands of students during his tenure with WCS. He has led with wisdom and a servant’s heart. I have been grateful for his example and to work alongside him for multiple years. While I am excited for his new personal and professional journey, I will miss his impact and personal friendship within our administrative team.”
Dr. Robertson shared, “I am truly honored by the kind words and graciousness I’ve felt during my transition from Warsaw Community Schools to Winona Wealth. This transition was unexpected and while I am excited about the next chapter in my family’s life, I will miss the work at Warsaw Community Schools and the friendships I have enjoyed while doing that work. Simply put, there is no other district like WCS. The mission here truly comes out in all aspects of our schools.
“I want to say thank you to all of the teachers, administrators, and staff that I’ve had the pleasure of working with during my time at WCS. It is an amazing team! The group of people I’ve worked with every day is the best team I’ve ever served with and I will miss working with them daily. I know that someday I will look back on my career and cherish my time on this team as one of the greatest privileges of my life.
“I want to say thank you to our school board. Throughout my career at WCS, I have always been supported by their meaningful engagement. I want to say thank you to the students and the families I’ve had the privilege of serving while at WCS. It’s been such an honor to serve you in the various roles I’ve held in our corporation.
“Finally, I want to say a special thank you to my mentor, boss, and most importantly friend, Dr. Hoffert. You have always believed in me, pushed me to do more than I thought possible, and encouraged me all along the way. You’ve modeled humble, servant leadership and always prioritized ethical decision-making. Few people in my life have done more to make me into the person I am today than you. Thank you Dave! Again, this decision came with much prayer, and while we’re saddened at the close of this chapter of our lives, we’re excited about what God has in store for our family in the next.”
Dr. Hoffert added, “There are people that leave a lifelong impact and Dave is one of those personal role models and friends to me. I am thankful he will be residing in the Warsaw Community and will continue to be a huge advocate for our students, teachers and community in new and unique methods.”
