Circus day! It's an annual rite of passage the kids look forward to, some since Kindergarten, and then talk about for years afterward. Our 3rd graders had a wonderful trip to the Coliseum in Ft. Wayne, creating so many memories along with other school children all across the state of Indiana. Happy Circus Day! #WarsawInspires

This week in the Innovation Lab/Library , we are learning about penguins and exploring different species using our databases. Students in grades 3 through 6 have been coding on Code.org, using coding blocks and completing assignments. The goal is to earn a certificate by coding a snowflake. Have fun and keep learning, Hornets! #WarsawInspires

Washington Girls Who Code learned about Raye Montague. She was a computer programmer and is best know for designing the FFG-7 submarine in just over 18 hours after Nixon asked the Navy to build a new ship in two months time. The girls designed their own boats and tested their project's strength by adding weight. #WarsawInspires

Washington Kindergarteners completed their second Engineering lesson. They learned about Wind Energy, Friction, and Rotation by building pinwheels out of Lego Duplos. Then they tested their project by counting how many rulers away from the fan it still rotated. Students compared large wings vs. small wings. #WarsawInspires
